The single ray of morning sunlight crept into the room through a crack in the curtains .

The darkness of sleep turned to pinkish red and he woke up, his face felt quite warm, ah it’s going to be a good day he thought. He slowly turned over on the spot, trying so hard not to move the covers or disturb the woman in his bed , he wanted to watch her sleep for a moment at least.

They’d met in a club down town last evening and had hit it off, they’d left the club for a local TY restaurant and stayed chatting until politely asked to leave at midnight. It was her decision to grab a taxi back to his for “coffee” . He couldn’t believe it he never had luck like this, after all his last partner had been 20 years ago and she’d left him for the guy that fitted the new WiFi.

She was still asleep he could see her naked shoulders above the covers, he remembered the ark of her back, her perfect skin how she’d smelt how she’d felt in his arms.

He reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder, it was stone cold, his hand dropped to the sheet it felt cold and wet, pulling his hand back it was stained red, shocked he pulled back and fell to the floor, he ran to the other side of the bed. At first he just saw her cold dead eyes staring back at him, then he noticed how red the covers were and the floor blood had soaked into it all , he threw back the covers, she was slit from chest to crotch, blood had poured out and other parts too.

The door burst open with a loud bang and 3 officers burst into the room pointing guns at him , he raised his blood stained hands and stood naked waiting for instruction…..
